DX Group (DX), the UK's leading independent mail and courier company, today announced the immediate availability of a new service for solicitors.
DX Find@Will, brought to market jointly by DX and technology specialists Data Management Associates (DMA), helps deliver improvements and efficiencies for lawyers dealing with wills and probate.
For years, there has been widespread support among solicitors for a nationwide wills register. Yet the number of wills being registered by the various competing services has been quite limited. The problem is that firms need to spend additional time and money to register a will and the registration process in itself does little to improve wills management or estate administration. In short, simply registering a will provides few benefits - either for clients or their lawyers.
"We are building towards a national wills register - long wanted by the profession - and, at the same time, providing immediate benefits to both solicitors and their clients," said Nino Mazzeo of DMA.
DX Find@Will subscribers are supplied with software to use as a Local Will Register, allowing firms to build and maintain their own local wills registers. Selected data from these local registers is automatically synchronised with the nationwide DX Find@Will Wills register. This ensures that unlike other registers currently available, DX Find@Will goes beyond the simple web database environment, enabling the solicitor to maintain control and ownership of their own Will details in-house whilst contributing to a nationwide resource from which all subscribing solicitors can benefit.
The new service streamlines the whole process of will searching, when dealing with a probate or administration case. Uniquely it does not assume that every firm is a subscriber, it is very simple to initiate the production of enquiry letters for non-subscribing firms in areas where the deceased lived or worked. Letters are centrally printed and despatched by DX, with a full audit trail and comprehensive reporting.
There is a long-term commitment to include an unlimited number of will registrations and searches in the annual subscription price. Firms signing up now for a year's subscription starting on 1st July 2009 will enjoy subscription-free service until then.
"DX Find@Will demonstrates our ongoing commitment to add value for our customers and keep DX relevant to their business," said Ian Pain, Chief Finance Officer at DX.
